Chief Investment Officer and Senior Portfolio Manager


Mike is a member of the Stoker Ostler executive committee, together with Michelle Decker and Mike Halls, guiding the long and short-term direction of the firm. He works closely with clients to identify individual financial goals and develop a portfolio strategy that will help achieve those goals. Mike offers a depth of experience in financial planning and money management, with sensitivity to income and liquidity needs, tax consequences and risk tolerance for clients. He is the chairman of the Stoker Ostler investment committee, which sets investment policies and portfolio strategies. Mike joined the firm in 2003 with nearly three decades of experience as a team member responsible for the management of an equity mutual fund with more than $1 billion in assets.

Mike has a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM. He is a current member and past president of the Phoenix Society of Financial Analysts and is a member of the CFA Institute. Mike also served as board member for the City of Phoenix Deferred Compensation Plan Trust. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Wichita State University.

Mike is an avid hiker and has led groups into the Grand Canyon and Sierra, Nevada. His love of the outdoors led him to participate in the assistance of a development of an investment policy for the McDowell Mountain Preserve. Mike is currently the Vice Chair for Ballet Arizona and is the past chair for his church’s board of elders and helped build a school in Guatemala.
